Think this review will go down the drain like the other bad reviews for this outlet. Bad service received at OHV branch. I went at 3.15pm on a weekday afternoon and cashier Hui Xin served me. There was almost no customer at the restaurant. I then asked if I could pay first then come back to pick it up an hour later as I have an appt in between and I don’t want to lug the food around. I needed to leave holland village area at 5pm sharp. She said company policy doesn’t allow for preorder so I left without ordering. After my appt, I reached the restaurant at 4.40pm and a customer before me ordered many items, even gave them his personal metal pot for the takeaway and said he would return only later to collect the food. When it was my turn, I asked how long I needed to wait for my takeaway. Manager Fui San said 25-30 mins. I told her about my unhappiness earlier on with Hui Xin where I could have ordered earlier and come back at a later time to collect it. Now on my second attempt to order, the restaurant made me wait 30 mins. I anticipated a problem like this so I was upset that they didn’t allow me to preorder the first time round. Manager Fui San was also very unapologetic when I told her about the incident prior. She gave a deadpan look and was radio silent when I recounted the incident to her. She didn’t address the issue directly and just tried to avoid it entirely. While I understand it might be company policy to not do preorders, it’s something your company is already doing on delivery platforms like allowing customers to order and then pick up at a designated timing. I was also surprised that the customer before me could pick up his items later, but the same treatment was not extended to other paying customers like myself. Suggestion for your restaurant moving forward: 1. If waiting time for takeaway is long like 20 mins and above, allow for customers to do preorders within a reasonable time frame 2. If preorders are not allowed, then waiting time should be a lot shorter for takeaways like 10 mins or less Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Had a gathering with ex-colleagues here for dinner at the recommendation. Now I have had a pretty good impression of Paradise Seafood since their humble beginnings at Defu, the brand has since branched out in all directions of chinese cuisine. To me ot has always been a cut above your standard Zichar stall at the coffeeshop. Scanning through the menu, I noted just about everything was nearly twice the price of their equivalent from the kopitiam. But was it twice as good? Here's the rundown of what we ordered. Sweet and sour pork, sambal kangkong, seafood fried rice, seafood braised beehoon and fried eggs with bitter gourd. The only reasonably good dish here was the sweet and sour pork, the sauce, the batter coated texture and the pork were on point. However, from here on out everything just devolved into mediocrity. The sambal kangkong tasted just like any decent Zichar stall could whip out, the two carb dishes were actually kind of bland. The seafood was fresh, the broth in the beehoon was seafood but it lacked any form of unami, same for the fried rice. The bitter gourd eggs had the same fate, in fact I think its on the same level as Cai Fan stalls. Pretty tasteless with zero effort. There were three of us and we each paid $32. Was it worth it? Definitely not. I can understand why there was no queue now despite OHV being an extremely popular dining venue. You are better off eating at your favourite Zichar stall unless the need for air-conditioning is that important, otherwise this would warrant a no go from me.
