Strange but we've been living in the neighbourhood (or nearby at least), but even as we go about our daily commutes, we do pass this place by, but it never crossed our mind to come in and look-see. These past 2 weeks, we've been here 4 times; each time trying something different in our exploratory makan exercise. This evening, we went to the Pasta Loft. All seats are situated on the second level with orders done below. It's a simple get-up with 6-7 tables in all. The interior is simple, understated and rustic. We like places like these because they feel so cozy and homely. Now the food. Reasonably priced, the food is good, and prepared to a standard only an accomplished chef could achieve! The pastas are el dente, with just the right amount of sauce for flavouring. As such, the Tom Yum pasta was Tom-Yummy, with the tangy, spicy flavours of Siam, the Vongole rich, and loaded with clams, and the Pizza despite not being the thin-crust variety I love, was crispy at the edges and Loaded with generous toppings of pineapple and ham. The food was so good, we went on to add-ons after dinner which were no less yummy. Don't get me wrong. The food wasn't fancy by any means! It's straight up Pasta and Pizza done well; but isn't that what everyone is looking for in any meal? We liked it here, and like the Man said in the movie, 'We'll Be Back'!
