I’ve had a lot of smash burgers and this one is on the thinner side. So if you order a single patty, you might still be hungry afterwards. Although the flavour was quite authentic for an American style smash burger. The fried chicken was a let down, there was barely any meat and it wasn’t seasoned well, it tasted like old grease.

10 out of 10. Full stop. Patty Addy Burger in Taipei is the kind of place that makes you believe in burger destiny. There was a line out the door and instead of rushing us, the owner kindly told us to come back in 40 minutes like a burger fairy godparent protecting the magic. Worth every second. This burger was gloriously larger than the bun and smashed with crispy, lacy edges that crackled with flavor. The onion was the unsung hero, perfectly caramelized in one gorgeous slice, not burnt, not raw, just chef kissed into sweet, savory submission. The cheese was melted to that precise sweet spot where it hugs the beef without sliding off like it has somewhere better to be. And the special sauce was lovingly spread all the way to the edges of the bun, not a lazy plop in the center but a full commitment to excellence. You can taste that someone cares here.
