Stopped by PAUL at CentralWorld for brunch and it turned out to be a really good call. I went for the scrambled egg tartine and French toast with ice cream, along with a hot cappuccino. The tartine was simple but very well done, soft, buttery scrambled eggs on toasted bread with fresh greens and cherry tomatoes on the side. Comfort food, executed properly. The highlight though was the French toast. Rich, slightly crisp on the edges, soft inside, topped with strawberries and caramel. Sweet but not overly heavy, so it worked well as a shared dessert. Coffee was excellent too, smooth, full bodied, and served in a proper large cup, which I always appreciate. Service was friendly and efficient, and even though the place was busy, there wasn’t much of a wait. Prices are on the higher side compared to regular cafés in Bangkok, but fair for a French bakery brand and the overall quality. The vibe is cozy and relaxed, good for conversation or a slow meal. My ratings: Taste: 8/10 Coffee: 9/10 Ambience: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Value for money: 7.5/10 Overall, a solid spot if you enjoy classic French-style café food and good coffee. PAUL depuis 1889 is located on Central Chidlom Basement Floor, near foodcourt/supermarket. Barista makes yummie Iced Mocha and Iced Choco. They also offers bread and cakes as well (heard their bakery is quite popular, but I didn't have a chance to try their bake daily products yet).
