(My review is highest) Finding proper coffee in Koh Samui feels like discovering a hidden gem. Paupau Cafe is more than just a café—it's a roastery specialising in Southeast Asian beans from Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. Owner-barista Pablo opened in 2022, naming the café after himself (Paupau sounds like Pablo, with a Chinese-style word repetition since it's near Chinatown). Top sellers: * Coffee: Flat white & cappuccino * Food: Cinnamon rolls (absolutely delicious, perfect with espresso macchiato) & sandwiches * Must-try for tourists: Espresso & affogato (made with fresh Samui coconut ice cream) Prices (approx): * Coffee: 75-120 baht * Sandwiches: 135-195 baht * Bakery: 75-80 baht Good to know: * Cosy atmosphere, but not ideal for long coworking sessions * Hard to find on maps? Search "Ploy Samui" instead * Walking distance from Central Samui, close to airport * Motorbike parking available in front * Indoor (air-con) & outdoor seating (camping chairs under shade) Hours: * Café: 9am-6pm * Restaurant: 12pm-9pm The café is surrounded by lovely plants—you can tell they care deeply about the space, not just the coffee.
