Awful Mother’s Day scam. We’ve been frequenting Pentola for the past 3 (or more) years. I love their homemade pasta, free flow wine, steak and fries. The environment is very relaxing. So naturally, we picked Pentola for Mother’s Day. The experience from start to finish was so horrible that we will never come again. First, the children’s menu (that’s used as a placemat) is $88. However, for Mother’s Day ONLY, they raised the price on the menu to $138 for the SAME EXACT FOOD. A 57% increase! You are literally punished for celebrating Mother’s Day with your own children that made you a MOTHER. Second, the “beef ragu“ is NOT RAGU. Ragu is beef simmered in sauce for a long time. This was bland tomato sauce with diced beef added at the final step. It was flavorless. It was bland. There were only 5-7 pieces of beef (forgot a photo so shared from another customer. Ours had no cheese on top and less beef). It also came out within one minute so was pre-prepared. I should have sent it back and not eaten it, but my kids were hungry. Third, I ordered the long crab legs for $328. They were way over cooked, flaky, and chewy, and very hard to separate from the shell. Fourth, I ordered tea for $46! The picture attached showed that it’s already halfway empty after TWO sips. The hot tea is literally a tea bag in hot water for $46. The blatancy of raising the kids meal by $50 (57%) while also displaying the $88 original price tag in your face is such disrespect. No change to the menu, just increased money out of pure greed. Cheap fake ragu. Expensive tea bags. Poorly cooked crab. A special Mother’s Day dinner ruined. Never again. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $250–300
