A hidden and elegant underground (literally) bar. The drinks are outstanding, and the menu is full of surprises. It’s a place where you can find great company, whether chatting with the bartender or meeting interesting people. Price per person: ฿600–800 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Really nice atmosphere, with a hidden basement vibe that makes the place feel a bit special. The entrance can be a little hard to find at first, so it might take a moment, but it’s worth it once you get there. There is parking, which is also convenient. The cocktails were really good and easy to enjoy, and the overall vibe of the place was great. A nice spot to chill, have drinks, and spend time with friends. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Basement dwellers, cocktail drinkers, and jazz lovers can unite and enjoy Philtration - a wonderful speakeasy made for them. This very secret bar, that includes a darkish corridor entrance and secret door, is a one of its kind in Bangkok, if not the world. What was once, a Chinese herbal or pharmaceutical store, is now a sumptuous, sexy as hell, intimate bar. Featuring a creative cocktail list, the bar is also renowned for live jazz, and an in-house cat who wonders in and out of the bar area. It’s really worth the effort to visit Philtration but if you’re reasonably tall be aware of the bar’s low ceiling and beams. Price per person: ฿400–600 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
