Pho Viet Authentic Hanoi Cuisine, 99 Portland St. G/FVisited Pho Viet Authentic Hanoi (PVAH) restaurant in Nov 2020 for dinner. PVAH opens at 18:30 daily. I arrived at around 18:15 and there were about 5 or 6 customers lining up and waiting for it opened for business. It can accommodate for less than 20 customers at a time. Before customers were seated, the waiter will measure their body temperature and served with hand sanitizer for sterilisation. They were told that if they were not eating or drinking, they were obliged to keep their masks on.Usually I would order raw beef soup noodles the first time when visiting a Vietnamese restaurant, no exception when visiting PVAH. It uses tenderloin instead of normal beef, that is why it costs at least 50% more expensive than a bowl of normal raw beef soup noodles. I drank a spoonful of the very hot soup and then quickly drew down the tenderloin to the bottom of the bowl to make the tenderloin turning to medium well done. There were green onion and coriander but no soya bean, it tasted nice. The portion of the noodles were relatively small and fair, the tenderloin was soft and delicious. The chef is clever in using tenderloin because s/he can control and ensure the texture of the meat, and understands that a higher price can be charged for the menu given the restaurant’s location. However, there are limited choices on the menu.As a whole, the food quality and service of this restaurant was good, it is worth a trial.
