Very disappointing experience, poor seating arrangement, underwhelming food, and an uncomfortable attitude from the service. We made a reservation in advance, yet upon arrival we were immediately seated at a three-person table extremely close to another table, despite there being plenty of empty tables in the restaurant at the time. The aisles were already quite narrow, so the whole arrangement felt unnecessarily cramped and uncomfortable. It honestly made me wonder what the point of making a reservation was if this was how casually it was handled. Unfortunately, the food did not make up for it. We ordered the red prawn hot dog, which arrived with almost no warmth at all — it felt more like eating a cold dish. Beyond the temperature, the flavour was very one-dimensional and lacked the depth I would expect from a restaurant with such high ratings. As our first dish, it was already disappointing. We then waited over half an hour for the black seafood rice. Our previous plates had long been cleared away, leaving us sitting at an empty table waiting for the next dish. When it finally arrived, the presentation was not particularly appetising — it simply looked like burnt rice. I understand that the dark colour comes from squid ink, but visually it did little to make the dish appealing. More importantly, the flavour was again surprisingly flat and monotonous. What bothered me even more was the service. When we placed our order, the staff member who appeared to be the manager on duty gave me a noticeable look immediately afterwards, as though our order was somehow not enough or not satisfactory. Perhaps that was not the intention, but as a customer, that was exactly how it came across. There was no minimum spend, and regardless of how much a customer orders, making them feel judged or unwelcome is simply poor hospitality and a lack of basic manners. To make matters worse, we had also ordered a rib eye. From the time we placed our order, through finishing the other dishes, it never arrived. Eventually we had to ask about it ourselves, only to be told that it would take another 10 minutes. At that point, given the already long wait, disappointing food and overall experience, we cancelled it. It genuinely felt as though the order had not been properly handled in the first place. I came here because of Pica Pica’s high ratings, so the experience was particularly surprising. Seating arrangements, food quality, pacing, service and basic hospitality were all below what I would consider a reasonable standard. After this experience, I would not return. For me, the reality simply did not live up to the reputation or hype. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $250–300
