Oh my! Gangneung has some great Korean BBQ restaurants and in Pig Club, we’ve just gained another with the distinction of having the best side-dishes I’ve had in my 17 years is in the country! First the menu. We had Samgyupsal and Duruchigi. Samgyupsal: The meat was as you would expect. Good quality and good flavour. The side dishes were the stars here though - and I’m a meat guy! It was served with fresh kimchi, spring onion kimchi, cucumber kimchi, bamboo shoots, onion pickle, spring onion salad, and garlic. I can’t overstate how good the onion dishes were. The spring onion salad and onion pickle were sweet and sour. The spring onion kimchi was spicy and salty. Together phenomenal! Duruchigi: This was basically kimchi Jiggae with samgyupsal in it. And it tasted as good as any other I’ve tried. The portion size was plentiful and the meat, generous. I will definitely visit again next time I’m in Gangneung! Highly recommended. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₩20,000–30,000
