Absolute rip off & probably the worst wine anywhere in Hong Kong. Got the chardonnay which was barely drinkable, we actually joked about how bad it was, but the alternative was the house wine was disgusting. And THEN THEY CHARGED US $140 A GLASS! Smallish pours too. Honestly, who do they think they are? Absolute extortion. Fancy HK bars with excellent wine lists charge less. Even Zuma has wine by the glass at 99! I wonder if its because our crew came in a little tipsy they decided to take the piss. I wish we had checked the bill before we paid. My friends are all wanchai/central locals, no one will be back. As for vibes, it's a bar for the owner to have drinks with his mates.

Plaza Mayor is an authentic Spanish tapas and wine bar on Sun Street in the Starstreet Precinct of Wanchai. You'll find casual, atmospheric indoor seating and during weekdays a handful of patrons spilling out into the open terrace area just outside enjoying a sherry or beer. Opening hours are 12pm until late in the evening. Menu features a good selection of tapas, paella and mains along with a wide range of wines, beer and spirit drinks. We ate a light dinner here recently and enjoyed all foods served. Octopus and pedron peppers were good, the calamari even better and the chorizo succulent, flavourful and just great. Wine, sherry and beer orders on the day were expectedly good as well. Service is very friendly and food orders come out in a timely manner. In the end, we have a fair number of Spanish and tapas places around the city but I can think of no other that reminds of restaurants we have dined at in Spain nearly as much as Plaza Mayor in Wanchai. This is as close as it gets to being are back in Espana. It is a really good venue to relax, enjoy the warm summer evenings along with light conversations with your partner or group of friends.
