I ate at the Po Lin Monastery Restaurant（珍味素）after booking a local day tour. Considering I paid for the tour package, I didn't really know ahead of time what would be included. That day, I was served an 8-course meal, with unlimited rice and soup that you could help yourself to throughout the meal. I'm not vegetarian, and I don't eat this type of food very often, so I can't provide an overly detailed comparison from that angle. Still, based on my experience, I'd say that most dishes tended to be a bit oily for my personal preference. That said, taste-wise it was quite good. If I were to come again, I'd definitely eat more slowly as I ended up eating a bit in a rush because the tour needed to move on to the next visiting spot. I would've enjoyed the meal much more if I had time to savour it.
