To be fair, the popiah is nice and packed full of ingredients. However, the lady boss is OCD in her preparation and each one seems to be a piece of art to her. It can take 10 min just to clear one customer and no, it’s not even more than 10 popiah ordered. If you have all the time in the world, you can queue. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Review Popiah 823A Tampines Street 81, #01-02 Tampines Grove, Singapore 521823 If you're in the Tampines West Street 81 area, take a walk around the local hawker centre. There are six stalls there, including one across the road, all within walking distance from Tampines West Community Centre. It wasn’t until I explored that I discovered three hidden food gems for delicious snacks nearby on this block. Among these, a popular local snack stands out: popiah, along with Delisnacks, which sells delicious fritters, especially youtiao (Chinese dough), and finally Signature Snacks' “Min Jiang Kueh” by Pancake Queen, Jiang Zong Jian. They are all located in the same block. This first simple store, named Popiah, sells popiah without a fancy signboard but offers very tasty versions of the snack. It can be considered one of the better popiah options in the area and is definitely worth a try if you're nearby. The stall is operated by a single woman, and the service quality is average. Be patient while waiting to place your order. Some feedback suggests that customers want to pay in advance; however, this is not accepted. You’ll need to wait your turn. I personally observed this earlier today. The owner of the stall is a woman who is not very talkative but dedicates her attention to hand-making popiah. She should maintain a positive attitude and keep the business running smoothly. It's important for her to greet customers cheerfully and without arrogance, as a friendly demeanor will make customers feel comfortable and eager to return. Remember, having a good dish is not enough—if the attitude is poor, customers may choose to go elsewhere for snacks. The popiah is said to be among the best in the neighborhood. Come and try it out. Regular customers always patronize this stall, whether dining in or taking away. Happy snacking! The other two stalls, as mentioned earlier, sell Youtiao (Chinese fried dough) from Delisnacks and Min Jiang Kueh by Pancake Queen, “Jiang Zong Jian,” respectively. They are well-received and popular among local residents, young and old. This snack store stands out for its beloved local delicacy! Dining in and takeaway options are available. Chris 8 March 2026 — New update 27 March 2026 — This is our regular patronage at the stall named Popiah. This simple store, Popiah, sells popiah without any signboard but offers quite tasty options. It can be considered one of the better popiah stalls in that area. It is worthwhile to try if you are around. The popiah is said to be among the best in the neighborhood. Come and try it out! These three stalls are side by side. You can buy your favorites all in one go and choose from your preferred local delights. Happy snacking! Chris 27 March 2026. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Order type: Takeaway Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $1–10 Vegetarian options: Traditional popiah is generally not vegetarian, as it commonly contains dried shrimp, fish sauce, and eggs. While the main filling consists of braised turnip, carrots, and bean sprouts, it is rarely purely vegetable-based unless specifically ordered as a "vegetarian popiah." Dietary restrictions: Popiah itself is not a dietary restriction but rather a traditional dish (a fresh spring roll) that is highly adaptable to various dietary needs. It can be customized to fit vegetarian, vegan, or lower-calorie diets depending on the ingredients used. Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Paid parking lot Parking: Can easily spotted this mini stall with customers queuing. If you buy 3 pcs at $6 and you save 60cents. Tasteful popiah! Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
