I had such a strange experience here. It started when I was told I had to order alcohol in order to play pool. My two friends ordered beers, and I explained that I couldn’t drink because of a medical condition. Neither the staff nor the owner seemed to care. They told me I could just order a beer for one of my friends instead. I found that really strange and unfriendly. I even said that if it was simply about spending money, I could order a non-alcoholic cocktail instead. They agreed, but then it turned out they didn’t have any mocktails available and made no effort to offer an alternative. At that point, I decided to leave because the whole situation felt very uncomfortable. Being basically pressured into ordering alcohol in 2026 is bizarre. Besides the fact that I genuinely cannot drink, there are also plenty of people who choose not to drink because alcohol is unhealthy. While waiting outside for my friends, things got even worse. The dog belonging to the owner across the street and this owner’s dog got into an altercation. The neighboring owner kicked the other dog away from his own, and then the two business owners almost ended up in a physical fight themselves. It was honestly sad to witness. Two Western business owners completely ruining the relaxed, laid-back atmosphere that Pai is known for. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
