fresh seafood for 2 pple cost us 600bht ?????hell nooooooooooooo. I really don't mind driving a little further to get yummy food

We visit Phuket every year and make a little lunch pilgrimage to Pu Dam - it’s definitely not fancy ambience but the excellent local dishes that make this place our must-eat spot to chow down at! Located in non-descript stand alone old building on the main road as you drive from Phuket over Sarasin Bridge (make a U-turn and it’s on the left), our long standing fave dishes include: cumin basted crispy fried fish (Pla Sai tod kamin), pad miang goong heng (wok fried local with smoky dried shrimp - though this time they ran out and gave us fresh shrimp not quite the same without those chewy smoky dried shrimp!), any crab dish, pad store sai moo (spicy stinky green beans with ground pork - super spicy and makes your wee smell like asparagus!). But the Stand out to die dish in our humble opinion is hor mok pla talay (steamed fish curry patties in banana leaves) - this we love soooo much we order 50 patties (call a day before so they can box in styrofoam for us to take home & share with family & friends!). Enjoy!
