So my partner – whom I love – is pescatarian, gluten intolerant, and allergic to tomato. In other words, a nightmare to take out. But of course – since I do love them very much – I do my best. Vegan restaurants are usually the best bet and generally have the highest tolerance for substitution shenanigans. But often it feels like the extra effort required to create gluten-free options results in a pretty minimal menu. Hey, I get it. Welcome to Pure Vegan Heaven, where you should be namaste'd on arrival by a shredded, henna-tattooed St. Petra, complete with nose ring, because this is gluten-free paradise. Not only does the menu boast numerous categories, and plenty of items within those categories, but multiple – I say multiple – gluten-free items within those categories. It's no Cheesecake Factory Bible, but it's an impressive menu for what is still seen to be a niche market. The food was fantastic, portions were solid, and the bill was shockingly reasonable. The drink selection was also impressive, with a wide variety of healthy beverages from hot to cold, local to exotic. And the presentation was beautiful across the board. So if you're striving for repeat business, you really do need a menu with at least a few items for each type of customer to keep them coming back, and Pure Vegan Heaven absolutely delivers. My favourite Rawai restaurant, I just enjoyed The Mexican Bowl option, The set breakfast is also excellent, healthy tasty food at excellent value.
