i wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re malay or indian who doesn’t know how to speak mandarin! my family had came here after watching a movie, so it was already abit late. this store did have a large variety, so my parents had taken a bit of time to check out the food. the lady at the counter, who seems to be around 50-60? i’m not so sure, was calling people up. she had called me and my brother, thinking we weren’t with my parents. my mum had made a small joke, saying “we’re together, don’t worry don’t have to call them”, something along the lines of that. that must’ve set something off in her i guess, because tell me why she started talking about my family in chinese? yes, my family is pure indian, but i had learnt chinese since kindergarten. i’m a secondary school student, so although my chinese isn’t a1 standard, it’s good enough to know what people are conversing about around me. there was an older chinese gentleman, and he had been waiting behind us. she called him over, and proceeded to start talking so much shit about my family i couldn’t believe i was hearing myself right. as i had mentioned before, my chinese isn’t the best, so maybe i heard it wrong. but no. she was, in fact, talking shit about my family. she had told the older gentleman “even after 3am they still won’t be done choosing.” in mandarin. i couldn’t believe her audacity. she also said “they don’t know how to say all at once or what? keep on choosing one by one”—something along the lines of that. please do not quote me exactly. i don’t understand why we should get talked about in mandarin. if she had so much to say, why not say it in english? why should she automatically assume i don’t understand chinese? just to note, racial harmony day was just on tuesday. overall, i think you should just come to this shop if you feel like being talked about in chinese. have a nice day everyone! The fish burger was good as they baked their own buns. $2+ for otah bun but stingy filling. It’s not even 1 whole otah lol they cut the otah into don’t know how many pieces and just stuck 2 small pieces at both ends to mislead customers. When i bite the center of the bun, it’s empty. Congrats q bread for having successfully cheated my feelings. But nonetheless, customer service wise was good though :)
