We were so excited to hear the music when we pulled up. It sounded lit! We got to the bouncers at the front door and they treated us like second class citizens. First they said “it’s not your day” then they said “you don’t fit the dress code”. It was clear that me and my friends (all Black) were being discriminated against. In my 40 years of life I’ve never been made to feel so small. It was giving, US south Jim Crow’s “seats taken” kinda energy. I write this note not to dissuade the Korean clientele— clearly they were having a good time! But if you have American dollars, OR if you are Black, OR if you care about equity and justice, please, DO NOT patronize this business. Wish I could give them 0 stars for their blatant overt racism. In 2026? You should be ashamed of yourself Roots. ps the discriminating bouncers are wearing black and at the front, pictured in the attached photos. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Very disappointing experience. Three days ago I was allowed to enter with a digital copy of my passport, so I came back expecting the same policy. This time I was told I needed the physical passport. I went all the way back to my guesthouse to get it and returned, but I was still denied entry. As an international visitor, I found this frustrating and confusing. The rules seemed inconsistent, and no clear explanation was provided. This experience left a very negative impression on me. Because of how I was treated, I would think twice before visiting this part of Daegu again, and I cannot recommend this venue to other international travelers. Price per person: ₩10,000–20,000 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
