Faultless. If you're Singaporean and missing food from home, this will hit the spot. The dry laksa is made with 老鼠分noodles instead of the usual thick beehoon. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $100–150 Recommended dishes: Dry Laksa, Pai Tee 金杯

The prawn noodles were quite disappointing with a complete lack of prawn flavour and was uncommonly sweet, making it seem it was drowned in sugar. I couldn’t finish even half the bowl of noodles. The lime lemon tea was clearly not made with real tea, and again was abnormally sweet. Had one sip and was abandoned. Overall, the service and atmosphere were attentive and comfortable, but I wouldn’t recommend the food. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $100–150

I recently visited Rempah Noodles in Wan Chai and tried their Nonya Laksa Lemak along with the Kaya Toast – a perfect combo for a quick Malaysian/Singaporean fix in HK! The laksa was delicious. The soup base is rich, aromatic, and feels very authentic – full of that classic coconut and rempah flavour without being overly heavy. The ingredients were of good quality: fresh prawns, yummy fish cake, tender chicken, bean curd puff, and fresh bean sprouts. As someone who travels frequently to Singapore and Malaysia, I’d say this laksa holds up well to what you’d find there – definitely one of the better versions in Hong Kong. We also got the Kaya Toast, which was nicely done. Instead of the traditional thick Kaya jam + butter, they use a lighter Kaya mousse, which gives it an airy, refreshing taste – a modern take that I actually really enjoyed, especially on a warm day. The only downside was the portion size. The laksa bowl is on the smaller side, and as a girl with a normal appetite, I finished the whole thing and still felt only about half full. I can see why the staff often asks if you’d like to add Kaya Toast – it’s almost necessary to feel properly satisfied! At HK$115 for the laksa, it feels a bit on the expensive side given the modest portion. Overall, great quality and authentic flavours make it worth a visit if you’re craving proper laksa. Just come hungry or plan to add an extra item. Will definitely return for more! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $150–200
