Textbook ethnic discrimination. Utterly insulting. We made a reservation during trip to Seoul. Upon arrival, staff refused to seat us and condescendingly refused to return our 300,000KRW deposit. They went on to lecture us, calling Chinese customers being constantly late while proudly boasting their strict non-late policy, which they mention nothing on online reservation page. Then the staff continue shamed us by blatantly claiming hoping not to serve Chinese at all and that no customers from any other country have ever been late. At last the chef would only agree to refund by international banking transfer (no cash/alipay/wechat/paypal), which made the transaction extremely difficult, after we insisted on the deposit refund as they turned down us for our accidental 8-min late to show up. The staff in the end commented“I get you money and now get out”. All in all jaw dropped for the whole appalling attitude and would not recommend this place to any one visiting Seoul. We had one of the worst dining experiences in Seoul here. All travellers, think twice before set this place as your dinner plan. We made a reservation in advance, paid the required deposit, and traveled a long distance specifically for this meal. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was unable to seat us as scheduled. What disappointed us most was not the mistake itself, but how the restaurant handled it. Instead of taking responsibility for their own reservation and operational issues, they attempted to shift all the consequences onto the customer. We had already invested our time, transportation costs, and deposit, yet there was no sincere apology, no practical solution, and no sense that they valued our experience. Running a fine dining restaurant requires much more than good food. It requires professionalism, reliable reservation management, and respect for guests. Unfortunately, this restaurant demonstrated none of these qualities. The entire experience felt like a business still learning how to operate, while expecting customers to bear the cost of its mistakes. I strongly recommend that anyone who values their time and dining experience choose another restaurant. There are many excellent restaurants in Seoul that understand what hospitality actually means.
