Rochor Beancurd House 432 Balestier Road, #01-436 Public Mansion, Singapore 329816 As we live nearby at Toa Payoh East area, we usually buy our Tau Huay (豆花) from Rochor Beancurd House at Public Mansion at Balestier Road. We would take a leisurely 20 minute walk from our Toa Payoh East side, and go across the canal to Balestier Road ( which was where I live during my childhood days). At times, we prefer to order via Grab delivery. Diam Sim / Tea-time desserts. ***********************************. Diam sim ( 点心) is the Hokkien/ Teochew term for tea time snacks or desserts. These are what we normally get from Rochor Beancurd House di Balestier Rd. Curry Puffs + Tau huay + Tau Huay Chwee + Yu-char-kway + Tofu fries. I am not a fan of the tofu fries. Tried once and that is it. The curry puffs are tasty though. What I usually do is to order extra hot Tau Huay Chwee ( hot soy bean milk) and drench it over the Tau Huay ( ie soy bean pudding). Because I like to eat my Tau Huay with lots of Tau Huay Chwee. I much prefer to use the Teochew/ Hokkien original terms for soy bean desserts. I am not used to saying the dessert names in Mandarin. Oh, my husband and I have always taken our Tau Huay or Tau Huay Chwee in the hot form. ️ We have been trained by our late parents to always eat hot Tau Huay. Some people though, they prefer cold Tau Huay. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Service: Takeaway Meal type: Other Price per person: $10–20 Recommended dishes: Beancurd and Deep Fried Fritters, Cold Grass Jelly Drink
