Lunch on September 13, 2026 A meal while I was still recovering from a cold. The broth and dessert were both very good. However, the main course—the duck—was very disappointing. The skin had an unpleasant burnt bitterness, and the dish tasted almost like a Western take on Peking duck, but with a rather strange flavor. The sauce did not complement the duck particularly well either. Also, please note that this restaurant does not offer tap water. Still water is charged at HKD 38, and coffee after the meal also comes at an additional charge. I would normally have no issue with either of these charges, but I was not informed about them when ordering and only found out when I received the bill. That felt a little odd. Lunch at Roganic Hong Kong is one of those experiences that quietly reminds you why it has such a strong reputation. I went for the set lunch, and it was excellent from start to finish. The menu felt thoughtful and well paced, with each course showcasing clean, seasonal flavours. The original main was a pork dish, but since I don’t eat pork, the team was more than happy to accommodate and replaced it with a duck main instead. It turned out to be a highlight. Beautifully cooked with perfectly crispy skin, rich but balanced. Another standout was their house tea pairing. It felt almost like having wine, layered, aromatic and complex, but much lighter and more refreshing. A great alternative that still complements the food well. I had visited about four years ago at their previous location, and it is genuinely impressive that the quality has remained just as strong, if not better. A restaurant that continues to deliver, quietly and confidently. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch
