This place was so cheap it felt like I was robbing them. The place felt like a construction site but the food was quite good authentic Burmese food. Curry has very not too much oil which is a sign of quality Burmese curry. My wife is Burmese and she was able to order for me. Person who ran the shop can speak perfect Thai. The staff was Burmese. This place is really only known to Burmese workers right now but if they maintain the quality of their food and find a way to wall-off the surrounding construction site to prevent so much concrete dust from landing on your food then I’m sure this place will be a hit with Thais and Foreigners instead of just Burmese construction workers. It seems this place caters primarily to local Burmese workers from the nearby construction sites. My biggest issue was the complete lack of prices on the menu. It felt like they were making up the costs on the spot; our entire meal for all dishes somehow amounted to just 100 baht. The food itself is definitely not geared towards a foreign palate. Having tried Burmese cuisine before, I can confidently say this was a disappointing experience. The dishes felt bland and uninspired, certainly not something a European visitor would enjoy. We were served small, fresh eggplants – with no explanation on how to eat them. While the rice was thankfully not spicy as requested, the salad was unpleasantly sour and extremely hot, and the prawns came unpeeled. Adding to the frustration was a bait-and-switch with a smoothie. I was quoted 30 baht initially, but when I went to pay, they demanded 80 baht, claiming it was from a neighboring Thai cafe and I had to pay separately. When I tried to explain that they had given me the 30 baht price, they simply turned their backs and walked away. I strongly advise against visiting this place. The high ratings are likely from local Burmese workers for whom the prices might be reasonable given the quality. For anyone else, it's a definite miss.
