Very disappointing experience. We waited over an hour for our food and had to repeatedly ask the staff about our order. Meanwhile, tables that arrived after us received their meals and had already finished eating before we got anything. After waiting so long with no clear explanation, we decided to leave. Ironically, only the soup came out after we had already gotten up to go. To make matters worse, no one apologized for the delay or acknowledged the inconvenience caused. Poor service, poor communication, and a complete lack of customer care. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. Service: 1

We ordered only two items: fried rice and tom yum soup. Even after waiting for over an hour, our food still hadn’t arrived. I checked with the staff twice and asked how much longer it would take, but they couldn’t give us any clear answer. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after us had already received their meals, finished eating, and left, while we were still waiting. The lack of communication and attention to our order was extremely disappointing. I don’t understand how a restaurant can operate with such poor service and so little regard for its customers’ time. At Ruaen Thara Restaurant (near Srinagarind Dam, Kanchanaburi), meals turned out to be homely Thai comfort food in a simple, local setting. Dishes like Seafood Salad, Crispy Omelet, Fried Belly Pork with Fish Sauce, and Tom Kha Gai delivered freshness and balance, while hearty plates such as Deep‑Fried Fish with Garlic and Fried Chicken with Sauce anchored the table. Breakfast was modest but memorable, with the rice porridge standing out for its rich seasoning and chewy minced pork. On another visit, the spread included Fried Chicken with Lemon Sauce, Shrimp Tom Yum, Sour Soup with Pak Wan and Shrimp, and Hairy Basil Ice Cream, each adding its own character. Ruaen Thara may be the nearest option by Srinagarind Dam, but it delivers genuine local flavours, hearty portions, and comforting variety — making it a reliable stop for both dinner and breakfast.
