We're always looking for a good pizza and have found that it's done incredibly in Japan and Savoy Ezo is a stop we must ensure we take whenever we're in Sapporo. The staff are incredibly friendly, the decor is chic, the oven is wood-fired, and most importantly - the pizza is outstanding. The inherent flavour and nuances of the dough make it good enough to eat by itself when taken for a stroll in the wood-fired oven; however, when paired with the various sauces and intent fully prepared ingredients, these pizzas are hard to beat. The execution from the pizzaolo gets a perfect undercarriage and colour on the crust without being too singed. The resulting texture is sublime. Their most popular pizzas are likely the Pizza Y (featuring bluefin tuna) or the Pizza P (featuring Hokkaido potatoes and bacon), which are both incredibly delicious; however, as we had the privilege of trying these on our last trip, we opted for the seasonal pizzas. The Hokkaido Asparagus and pesto pizza was incredibly fresh, light, and flavourful - by far our favourite pizza we've tasted here. The Sakura Shrimp was delicate and played to accentuate the inherent saltiness and savouriness of the shrinp - creating an umami punch that is balanced and nuanced. The Shiraoi beef, tendon, gravy, and spring onion was more subtle than expected but was rich and savoury without being heavy nor greasy. It's not to be understated the quality and freshness of the ingredients in addition to the thoughtfulness of preparation behind each of the components that eventually become a part of the pizzas. Every single component is intentfully prepared and combined to make a bite that is consistently delicious. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ¥5,000–6,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
