A simple, no-frills tonkatsu restaurant and that’s exactly what makes it so good. The food is delicious, perfectly cooked, with a crisp coating and tender meat inside. The place is clearly popular with locals, which is always a good sign. The atmosphere feels authentic, far from touristy spots. The only challenge is communication: the menu isn’t in English and no one speaks English, so ordering can take a bit of effort. But honestly, that’s part of the experience and it’s absolutely worth it.

It is a solid neighborhood restaurant for regular customers. The tasty tonkatsu is well cooked. The side of white rice tastes good. But it is nothing fancy. The udon is not as good. I would stay away from udon next time. You pay at the credit card reader at each table at the time of ordering. Price per person: ₩10,000–20,000 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Meal budget per person (without drinks) Category 1 (under 60000 KRW, 50 USD Saboten has been specializing in Pork Cutlet (Tonkatsu) since its opening in Shinjuku in 1966. The attractiveness of Saboten Korea is fresh Salad with own Yuha dressing, soft and crispy cutlet through own breadcrumbs. It is my family’s favorite restaurant also for Udon, chewy noodles with refreshing broth. I recommend the combo menu of Tonkatsu with Udon. There are seasonal menu and promotion, and this winter promotion is also wonderful with complimentary spicy noodles with Tonkatsu. Prices are moderate and there are parking lots for comfortable visit. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
