We had a great night here until the last fight where two children were fighting each other. The smaller boy was knocked out almost immediately in the first round and lay on the floor with his eyes open for awhile. Neither child was wearing headgear. There are severe long-term consequences when children sustain head injuries and seeing the incident was deeply distressing. The audience were horrified afterwards, and several were crying. It was not addressed but the crowd did cheer him when he got out of the ring. I hope the gym implements better safety measures and supervision, like having children wear headgear and having age limits, or scrap children fights as a form of entertainment altogether. I sincerely hope the boy is okay.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand your feelings regarding the children’s match. Please be assured that children’s Muay Thai at our gym is conducted as a sport. The participants are well-trained, and they voluntarily compete on the ring. All children are closely supervised, and a qualified ringside doctor is present to ensure the safety of every fighter, whether children or adults. After the match, the boy was checked and is safe and doing well. We sincerely apologize if the event caused you any distress, and we appreciate your feedback as we continually work to maintain the highest safety standards.
