Visited in Mar 2026 Samut is a seafood only fine-dining restaurant, and doesn’t offer any meat course in its tasting menu. The tasting menu comprised around 13 courses, of which the first 3 courses are small bites (amuse bouche). After the 3 amuse bouche courses, there were 7 reasonably small-sized courses before the main course. The main course comprised 3 small dishes along with crab fried rice. The meal then ends with 2 dessert courses and some petit fours. Food wise, the preparation of the dishes and the flavour profile of each course was very good. The quality of the seafood and various ingredients used in the courses were top notch. I generally don’t like all seafood tasting menus, but I didn’t feel that way at all during the dinner at Samut. We didn’t have any drinks. But there is a wine list for those interested. Service was really good. The head chef himself came and served quite a few of the courses. The restaurant staff were very polite and courteous. Overall, a really good restaurant which is definitely worth a visit if you’re staying in South Phuket. A very talented chef performing at a Michelin-star level, it feels like only a matter of time before the first star arrives. The menu was outstanding: each dish complemented the others perfectly while still offering its own distinct flavor. It was especially interesting to see how regional ingredients were reinterpreted in such a creative way. I will definitely come back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
