We discovered this restaurant just about 3 minute walk from our hotel and it truly exceeded our expectations. The ambiance is cozy and casual and they offer a wonderful variety of Thai food especially seafood and more. The prices are reasonable and the service is outstanding. Sea Surin Restaurant — the rare Thai kitchen that’s fresh, fairly priced, and not chasing the tourist markup Sea Surin Restaurant is the kind of place that quietly embarrasses every overpriced “elevated Thai” spot trying to charge premium money for food that arrives tired. This is the opposite of tired. Everything that came out of the kitchen was ultra-fresh, properly cooked, and priced like the owners actually want locals and repeat customers rather than a one-time tourist shakedown. In a stretch of Thailand where “fresh” and “well-priced” have quietly divorced, Sea Surin kept them together. The cashew chicken was the standout main — golden, crisp-edged chicken in a glossy, properly balanced sauce with snappy bell peppers, carrot, onion and whole cashews, none of it sitting in a puddle of cornflour slurry the way lesser kitchens serve it. Real wok heat, real freshness, every vegetable still with a bite to it. The spring rolls were equally honest: shatteringly crisp shells, hot all the way through, with a clean vegetable filling and not a hint of the greasy sogginess that plagues most fried starters. Plated with an orchid like the place has standards, served like they care. But the thing I’ll actually be back for is the coconut smoothie — and I don’t say this lightly: it’s the best coconut smoothie I’ve had in my life. I asked for no sugar and they clearly used pure fresh coconut and nothing else, no syrup, no sweetened muck, no powdered shortcut. The result was unbelievably clean and refreshing, just the actual flavor of good coconut doing all the work. After a hundred over-sweetened versions across Southeast Asia that taste like sunscreen and sugar, this one was a revelation. If you order one thing here, order that. Service was warm and unhurried, the plating shows genuine pride, and the value is frankly absurd for the quality. This is a place that does the fundamentals — freshness, balance, fair pricing — better than venues charging twice as much. No notes, no caveats. 5/5 — ultra-fresh Thai done right, honestly priced, and home to the single best coconut smoothie I’ve ever had. Go. What a gem of a restaurant this place is! We were there for lunch and dinner over the 2 days of wet weather and every single dish we ordered was fantastic Well priced, delicious authentic meals that won't break the bank! If you're around the Surin Beach area, do yourself a favour and check it out.
