Tried their special recipe “Mont Blanc” with Orange zest, nutmeg, cream etc. Super unique drink inspired by those in Melbourne cafes. Really nice quaint spot! Awesome drinks

SO HAPPY THAT THIS LOVELY LITTLE COFFEE CORNER called “SEASONAL BREW” (26A Chai Chee Rd) IS JUST BELOW MY BLOCK. We tried it for the first time and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I can see myself coming back ever so often. Very wide range of brews on the menu, and occasionally, Banana Puddings (when there’s good banana to make the puddings, said the young owner). (5 full hearts for this wonderful small biz + wonderful young owner(s?). Located directly in front of Donglin Therapy where I go for my foot massage.

I ordered the honey oat latte and the strawberry matcha, and unfortunately both drinks were really disappointing. The honey oat latte was overwhelmingly sweet to the point where I couldn’t taste any coffee at all. It also felt oddly flat and diluted, even though I drank it immediately after getting it. The strawberry matcha wasn’t any better. It was a complete sugar bomb. Despite asking for less sweet for both drinks, it was still extremely sweet and tasted quite artificial. Like the latte, it also felt flat and lacked any real depth or balance. The matcha layer sank almost instantly, and the drink wasn’t even filled up properly. Both drinks had a strange mouthfeel, and overall the experience left me with a terrible headache that lasted the entire day. After drinking them, I also felt quite sick, which made the experience even worse. Really disappointing, especially given that I specifically requested less sweetness.
