From appetizers to main dishes, everything was of high quality. The ingredients were fresh, and the seasoning was perfectly balanced—each dish reflected the chef’s attention to detail. Whether it was the skewers, small dishes to pair with drinks, or signature items, every bite made it hard to stop eating. The restaurant has a warm, traditional izakaya atmosphere, and the service is friendly and natural, making it easy to feel at ease right away. Enjoying delicious food and a few drinks with friends made the time feel like it slowed down. If you find yourself in Kennedy Town and are looking for an izakaya with warmth, quality, and a great place to enjoy good food and good company, Shiba Izakaya is definitely worth recommending. Found this place as my partner had just finished work and we wanted some Japanese food. We didnt book but we were accepted in to eat. Ordered an Udon and some skewers. I had high expectations as it had 4 stars. An hour in, we had a couple of skewers and nothing else. I was absolutely fuming as it shouldn't take an hour long for an Udon to be made. The atmosphere was tight and uncomfortable, almost sitting shoulder to shoulder. The only person I would give respect here is the man on the grill. He is focused in making the food and doing his best while everyone else were just standing around??? Food was alright but unfortunately, it will be unlikely of me to come back here. Price per person: $250–300
