My friend brought some cupcakes from Sift last week. As a non-dessert lover, I was quite impressed by Sift's cupcakes-rich hazelnuts cream, moist cake base and moderate sweetness. I was planning to make some order myself for my friends and family and so I was brought to this page.

Amazing desserts. Disgusting staff at horizon plaza. Yes you close at 6 pm but seriously for one of them to kick us out aggressively by slamming the chairs of the shop. Wtf?! Avoid as much as you can.

Sift Desserts is a local business with patisserie and dessert bars which can be found spread around the city. The first shop opened in 2006 on Graham Street by a former local banker turned baker with a passion for desserts. They have since expanded to seven different locations around the city. Check out their website to locate the Sift nearest your hotel or wherever you might be sightseeing. What I really like about Sift are the cupcakes which are soft and moist, like what you find in the United States at better cupcake shops and bakeries. They are not fully baked, dry and cake-like in texture, which is usually what we find with cupcakes here in Hong Kong. Cupcake and icing flavours are a range of classic and creative. I recently enjoyed a chocolate, carrot and apple toffee cupcake, finding the texture of each to be very good while greatly enjoying the flavours as well. Cupcakes can be bought individually (HK$28) or in box sets. They also sell mini-cupcakes (HK$15) which can make a fun way to try more flavours. Overall, we've enjoyed cupcakes tried at Sift branches. It is a good stop if you fancy a dessert stop and enjoy soft, moist and flavourful cupcakes.
