Last night, I had the chance to visit Sipping Tiger Bar, the cocktail bar inside InterContinental Phuket Resort, designed around a 1940s-inspired hideaway concept that feels like a hidden vintage cocktail den. The space is filled with dim lighting and a timeless classic atmosphere that makes the experience feel both intimate and sophisticated. Many of the cocktails incorporate botanical ingredients blended with rare spirits, creating drinks with unique layers of flavour and character. The night we visited also featured a special guest shift by teams from Native Bar Singapore, Analogue Initiative, and Bae’s Cocktails Club, with exclusive cocktails created just for the event. For those who enjoy cocktail storytelling bars or love exploring guest shifts from renowned bars, this is definitely one spot not to miss while in Phuket. A real gem of a cocktail bar I had never seen in Phuket before. Here at Sipping Tiger, they offer a great range of cocktails, especially their signature takes on the classics. I ended up trying almost 10 drinks, and honestly some of them were super, super nice even better than many cocktails I’ve had in big cities. Personally, I really fell in love with their classic cocktails. If you feel like having bar food, they also offer quite a few dishes. Some might be on the elevated side, but they’re definitely worth trying. What really made the experience special was hearing the story behind the bar from the well-trained staff. Together with the high-quality ingredients and thoughtful decoration, it made me feel incredibly comfortable and completely at ease Price per person: ฿800–1,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If you're looking for a sophisticated escape within the InterContinental Phuket, Sipping Tiger Bar is a must-visit. It feels like a high-end 1940s-style "cocktail den" tucked away from the main resort bustle. The atmosphere is intimate and moody, with a beautiful focus on botanicals and greenery that makes the space feel like a hidden sanctuary. Of course you must try their signature cocktails but if you're feeling less adventurous, classics are just as great. Look out for special events and p.s. ask for a tour to see the "tiger's den" ;) oh and be warned, kids are allowed and in my view there should be an age limit to a bar despite it being in a resort. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
