There are many Thai coffee beans to choose from. Light to medium roast. Good quality brew. The barista spoke limited English, but a lady who spoke more fluent English helped explain the variety of coffees. Price per person: ฿1–200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Slow Bar ZapaCoffee: A Hidden Gem in Chiang Mai for the True Coffee Lover Stepping into Slow Bar ZapaCoffee felt like discovering a secret handshake among coffee enthusiasts. It’s not just a coffee shop; it’s an experience, a quiet rebellion against the ordinary, nestled perfectly within Chiang Mai’s vibrant walking street. Forget what you thought you knew about night markets; this place alone makes you rethink your entire itinerary. My journey began with SOPA’S ESTATE medium roast, and I just had to try it both as a hot drip and a cold brew. The distinct character of Mrs. Sopa’s farm truly shines through, a testament to exceptional beans and masterful preparation. Each sip told a story, a delightful narrative of unique flavors that lingered long after the cup was empty. It was an absolute standout. For my take-away adventures, I indulged in a few more cold drip delights: the robust CHIANG RAI Medium roast, the intriguing HEPSADEJ, and the beautifully balanced APA House Blend ETHIOPIA. Each one was a perfect companion for exploring the charming streets, a liquid treasure to savor. What truly elevates ZapaCoffee, however, are the people behind the bar. The baristas, both the kind gentleman and the lovely lady, are not just skilled; they are genuinely passionate, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. Watching their meticulous drip technique was a masterclass in itself – so much so that I’m inspired to try and replicate their artistry at home! Their friendly demeanor and willingness to share their expertise made the experience all the more enriching. But beyond the beans and the brilliant baristas, it’s the philosophy that truly resonated with me: late-night coffee dripping. There’s something profoundly touching about enjoying such a carefully crafted brew as the city winds down. It’s a moment of quiet contemplation, a perfect end to a day, or perhaps, the start of a reflective evening. This unique approach is what makes ZapaCoffee an absolute must-visit. For any coffee aficionado venturing into Chiang Mai, Slow Bar ZapaCoffee is an undeniable hidden gem. It’s a place where every detail is considered, every bean respected, and every cup poured with passion. Trust me, once you’ve experienced the magic here, you won’t want to go back to your old walking street haunts. This is the new standard.
