This rooftop bar is a huge disappointment. The infrastructure is basic; nothing has been done to give the place any charm or make it cozy. There's nothing to protect you from the sun or rain either. Furthermore, the view is completely uninteresting; the Ping River isn't even visible. There are much more interesting places to go in the city. Here, you'll just pay more for your drink than elsewhere, and you'll finish it quickly because there's nothing to entice you to linger. To be fair, I should mention that I visited during the day; perhaps the atmosphere is different at night, with the city lights.

Very disappointing experience. The main reason I booked this hostel was because they wrote that it is located 200 meters from the bus station to Pai. In reality, that bus station no longer exists there and apparently has not been there for years. When I arrived and asked the receptionist for help understanding how I was supposed to get there, she kept saying she did not know anything and that only her boss could answer. Then, when I spoke with the boss on the phone, he was rude and unhelpful instead of taking responsibility for the misleading information. The hostel itself is small, the advertised view is basically blocked by trash, and the entire top floor looks like a dump. It is cheap, but the experience was not worth it at all. I left very disappointed. Service: 1

We visited Makad Rooftop to watch the sunset There are a few flights of stairs to reach the top, but my mum—who has mobility issues—was able to take them slowly. We ordered our food and drinks downstairs before heading up. The outdoor area was lovely, with plenty of space and a mix of tables, chairs, and comfy sofas to relax on. The food was fine—just what you’d expect for some light, picky bits—and the atmosphere was great. We really enjoyed watching the sunset, even if a big block of flats was right in the way
