We found this gem two days before we had to leave Ko Chang and came back every day - it's a new place owned by a friendly Thai couple and directly located by the beach - perfect sunset views. It cannot be reached from the street - you have to walk north past Independent Bo's and Rock Sand Resort - the Som Tam Shop is located between the Maylamean Bungalows and White Sand Resort in a quieter part of White Sands Beach. You can easily spend a day there (there's plenty of shade due to a few trees) and have dinner and drinks (alcoholic as well as non-alcoholic) while watching the sunset. It is a wooden hut with a few plastic chairs in front of it, but we had hands down the best homemade spring rolls ever for two days in a row. Their papaya salad also deserves praise - it's really spicy (ok, we asked for it) but packed with flavors. Prices are reasonable given its premium location directly at the beach. We really loved it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a casual place to check out during a beach day. Lovely owners, tasty food, top location!
