Save waiting time by going to this new eatery at Telok Ayer, which serves Modu’s samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup) during lunchtime! Though we waited awhile for seats, heard that the queue at Mandarin Gallery is even longer. Truffle samgyetang has a thicker consistency than the usual soup, just like what the staff told us prior to ordering (great service btw!), & love its strong truffle smell & freshly-shaved truffle slices! We also shared the Collagen kalguksu, with thick, chewy noodles & tender chicken. Topped up $6 for the set which came with appetizer & dessert (good idea if u wanna try Tofu G’s gelato). Can’t say I’m a fan of the appetizer of Minari watersnail salad, but the egg roll was ok. Too bad we couldn’t choose the gelato flavour, as the one we got was quite sweet & the black sesame taste didn’t really stand out. 2nd visit: Notice that they no longer shave the truffle fresh at your table, but there’s been some changes in the sides (we tried the Mushroom fries). Fantastic restaurant, with delicious food and a really cool atmosphere. Where Korean BBQ often is about great beef or pork, this place focuses on one thing only: chicken! The mixed platters with different parts of chicken are grilled to perfection in front of you, on a real charcoal grill. We especially enjoyed the hearts, neck and thighs. The cold bibim noodles where also a delicious side dish. What’s really brilliant, is that for every cut of chicken, a specific sauce or condiment is recommended. Making it even more of an experience. A few Korean beers really make the night complete. Hope to be back here one day. Perfect in its’ simplicity. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+
