静かで並ばなくてスムーズに入店できゆっくり過ごせます。サンドウイッチ類は温めてくれますし、飲みものもカップにたっぷりはいってます。サンドウイッチ類やデニッシュ類、ケーキなど種類豊富です。現金した使えないお店が多いですが、クレジットカード使えます。. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $50–100

I dropped by Sour Dough on my way home from a nice walk on Bowen Road Fitness Trail. It's conveniently located at Queen's Road East and St. Francis St. in Wanchai. It has an open front which creates a really bright and comfortable space. There is a glass food display at the entrance where you can choose what bread or pastry you like. The ordering process is a bit confusing and lacking flow. You order your bread or pastry from one person behind the counter, but then have to go to the end of the counter to order your drink with another person. From a productivity standpoint, it could be improved. It's nice to have alot of employees, but payroll is one of your major costs to manage. The service personnel are very friendly and attentive. My phone battery was low so I asked where the nearest place was to rent a phone charger. The girl politely offered to charge the phone for me at the counter. Well done! I ordered a croissant. While it tasted very good and was nice and buttery, it was dark brown on the inside which I do not ususally see in croissants in other bakeries. I went to the display counter and asked one of the bakers behind the counter whether I could ask him about the croissant. He raised his hand and said, "NO." Fortunatley, there was a girl there who quickly came over to answer my question which is that it's made with sour dough. Aha, hence the name of the bakery. However, I have had sour dough croissant before and they were never dark brown. Perhaps, one of our readers can help to educate me here. Having said all that, the croissant is delicious. I would suggest that if you have employees facing the customer and they do not speak english, they should be trained to smile and politley say, "I'm sorry. She will help you." Most people will understand and accept that. A straight forward "NO" is not so nice. The iced latte I ordered was great and the price is fine at HK$70. I will go back, maybe, someday. Bon appétit. A lovely cafe with great coffee, great food and wonderful friendly staff. The open setting gives it a great atmosphere along QRE. I am a regular. Kudos to the team for their hard work and the atmosphere they create.
