Easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. For a restaurant that claims to have a Michelin star, this was frankly embarrassing. The prices are high (compared to the rest on Koh Lanta), but the food quality was shockingly poor across the board. The carbonara (their so-called “special” version) was an absolute mess, wet, soggy, and completely devoid of flavour. The steak, ordered medium, came out overcooked and lifeless. The potato mille-feuille was equally bad, soggy and tasted like it had been sitting around for days. Starters were no better. Both the octopus and shrimp were overcooked to the point of being unpleasant. They try to distract you with gimmicks like letting you choose your steak knife, but even that was poorly executed, as the knife wasn’t even properly sharpened. It’s hard to understand how a place like this can claim any kind of prestigious recognition. This felt like style over substance, with neither done well. To avoid any confusion, the recognition you may be referring to is the hotel’s 2 Michelin Keys, which relate strictly to the hospitality experience, not the restaurant. That said, your experience as described is clearly not in line with the standards we expect to deliver. Dishes such as carbonara, steak, and seafood should be executed with precision and consistency, and the issues you’ve raised regarding overcooking and quality are concerning. We also note your comments about details such as the steak knife. Elements like these are intended to complement a strong dining experience — not compensate for shortcomings — and we will be reviewing this internally. While we stand by our concept and pricing, we acknowledge that your visit did not reflect the level of quality we aim to provide. I visited Seven Seas Restaurant . My boss surprised us to have a party to end the season. For me, the cocktails were delicious. They served appetizers of ching-chang fish and peanuts. The taste was delicious. The view was beautiful. The staff was friendly and cheerful.We had a very beautiful and impressive diner.
