A French restaurant tucked between shopping bags and credit card damage in Seoul. Easy to walk right past, but it's at the end of a narrow street. Get the Flatfish steak with brown butter and the Korean Beef Tartar. Run by a Korean American chef who moved back during COVID. The food leans French, not American diner with a beret French. Actual French. And somehow priced like they forgot to check what the neighbors are charging. Premium taste, regular person wallet. Huge wine selection that we skimmed cause it was lunch. The fish sat on a pile of wilted greens, covered in toasted almonds, fresh herbs, capers, and fat raisins, all sitting in brown butter. Sweet, salty, and savory all going different ways but somehow getting along. Sautéed garlic holding it all down. Bold enough to remind you of Korean cooking where everything is unapologetically salty, but dressed in French clothes. Truffle pasta was creamy and completely shameless about it. The beef tartare hidden under chips with shaved cheese, chopped chives and capers poking through the cracks. Well done, no fuss. Just good. No stomach issues either, perfect for the travel. The lettuce salad came a little sweet with some nuts. Pleasant, sure. Like a coworker you'd wave to but wouldn't invite to dinner. French food in Seoul by way of America. The kind of place that doesn't need to explain itself because the plate already did. Friendly stoic owner, the kind who sounds monotone but secretly obsessed with perfecting food at the highest level. Price per person: ₩80,000–90,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
