Last weekend, I decided to check out Stand up PLZ BBQ, a Korean barbecue restaurant that has been popping up all over social media lately. Overall, I’d say it was quite an interesting experience, although it wasn’t without its flaws. First of all, the quality of the food is excellent. The meat they serve is incredibly fresh, juicy, and tender, and you can really taste the difference compared to more average barbecue places. One of the best features of this restaurant is that the staff handles all the grilling for you right at your table. It’s perfect for people who either don’t want to deal with the hassle of cooking or who simply want to focus on chatting and enjoying their meal without worrying about burning the meat. I barely had to touch my chopsticks except to pick up perfectly grilled slices of beef or pork that were placed in front of me. The atmosphere, however, is a bit of a double-edged sword. The restaurant blasts loud Korean pop music, which definitely creates a fun, high-energy vibe. It almost feels like you’ve stepped into a night club rather than a traditional barbecue place. The flashing lights and thumping bass make it a lively spot that seems especially popular with younger crowds, many of whom come here for dates or gatherings with friends. While it’s entertaining and trendy, it can be overwhelming if you’re looking for a quiet dinner or want to have a proper conversation without shouting over the music. One of the biggest downsides, though, is the wait time and parking. The area around the restaurant doesn’t have a lot of parking spaces, making it quite difficult to find a place for your car. On top of that, there’s often a long queue to get a table. When I went there around 10 PM, I was surprised to wait nearly 40 minutes even though there were several empty tables visible inside. That part was pretty frustrating and made me wonder about how the staff manages seating. Despite those issues, I’d still recommend Stand up PLZ BBQ to anyone craving quality Korean barbecue and a vibrant atmosphere.
