My friend has been here before and was taking us there again. He wasnt too good with directions or remembering where the place was so we were walking around in circles trying to find this place. It turns out they changed the name of the place to Wagyu Steak KAKU NISEKO by Steak Rosso Rosso but google maps wasnt updated. We ordered a variety of food and 2 kids menu for his kids. There was a grilled chicken set, seared tuna set, beef with salmon roe bento box and decided to splurge on a Matsusaka wagyu beef set all to share. All set menus comes with a starter, onion soup, mains, and dessert. Everything was fine, my friend was raving about how good the onion soup was but I was deeply disappointed to know it wasnt french onion soup, but a very watered down version of it. Their menu claims they cook the steak to their recommended doneness and has an extra hot puck for you to cook your meat more if you like, not that we really need it as we enjoy medium rare steaks, but that hot puck wasnt heated to the right temperature and it was too small to do anything and cooled down very fast. The Matsusaka beef itself was good, tender, not too greasy but definitely too much if one person ate it all, good thing we shared. The chicken was meh, nothing special nothing bad, just fillet chicken thigh with some teriyaki sauce. The beef with salmon roe bento box was good, bring back some "Japanese-ness" to the menu with soy sauce and wasabi. The seared salmon was probably my favorite. Light, slight hint of tartness from the sauce and overall enjoyable. Probably because we've been eating such greasy and heavy foods throughout the trip that something light and refreshing for a change is what we needed. We finished it off with Hokkaido milk ice cream which was always nice. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
