Found Stripes’ Deli through a quick search while near the main shopping street, and it was the highlight of our trip. We originally wanted the Reuben to go, but the incredibly friendly staff explained they only offer it for dine-in to ensure it’s served hot—which makes total sense in the middle of an Aomori winter! Despite the "dine-in only" rule, the service was lightning-fast. The sandwich itself was a revelation: a massive, authentic stack of pastrami that puts other "pastrami" sandwiches in Japan to shame. I never expected to find the best Reuben in Japan up here in Aomori, but this exceeded every expectation. Can’t wait to come back next year!
