Delicious Indonesian food at Xindian. If you are from Wulai & looking for Halal food in Xindian, this is the place. Sate + kuah kacang sedap sangat Gulai ayam peha juga sedap. Highly recommended. There's a place downstairs for you to eat and solat. Very comfortable. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: NT$200–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This was truly the best Nasi Padang I’ve had in Taiwan. I’ve tried many Nasi Padang places here, and this one is hands down the best—so close to what I usually eat back in Jakarta. It gets quite busy during lunch, and unfortunately we had to wait almost 30 minutes for our food, even though the couple who came after us got theirs much sooner (not sure what happened there). But honestly, because the food was so good, I didn’t mind this time. They have seating downstairs, and one of the coolest things is that they deliver the food using a mini elevator! It’s kind of self-service, which I thought was pretty clever. We ordered the Nasi Padang with rendang and the Nasi Padang with sate. We also tried the Mie Ayam, which unfortunately wasn’t very good in my opinion, so I’d recommend sticking to the Nasi Padang when you visit. And don’t skip the gorengan! For NT$100, you can get 3 pieces instead of paying NT$40 each. The bakwan and tempe were especially delicious. Usually, when I try gorengan at other Indonesian shops, they can be a bit bland—but these were so flavorful I almost bought extra to take home. Now back to the Nasi Padang—everything on the plate was delicious, even the daun singkong, which I normally don’t even like. The rendang was incredibly tender and full of flavor. It also came with both sambal merah and sambal ijo, and both were excellent. The sate was also the best sate I’ve had in Taiwan—the meat was so tender, and the peanut sauce was absolutely to die for. Honestly, I could eat here every week if I could. The portions are huge too—even my husband said he was completely full, which was surprising Overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Indonesian food in Taiwan. Sultan Padang Resto is undoubtedly one of the finest Indonesian restaurants in Taipei, specializing in Padangnese cuisine from the West Sumatra Province. Their authentic dishes are rich in herbs and spices, perfect for those who enjoy bold flavors and spicy delights. Every dish we ordered was not only delicious but also served in generous portions. The restaurant boasts a clean interior with ample seating, especially on the basement floor, where Indonesian ornaments and decorations add to the ambiance. While the location may be a bit far from the city center and the prices may not be the most competitive for Indonesian food in Taipei, the culinary experience offered here is truly worth a try.
