We came here last night for food & sunset vibes and it did NOT disappoint. A real local, Thai experience and probably one of the best sunset views. Highly recommend if you want a unique experience :) Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I was probably like you in the same situation. Looking for a nice place to watch the sunset and do some stargazing. I looked on Google Maps for ‘sunset’, and came across this place. ‘It’s only 10 minutes from here, cool, let’s go there’ I drove up there, first an unhardened road, but that quickly turned into an asphalted road. I arrived at the top and arrived at the place. I couldn’t believe what happened next. I got greeted by a local Thai who lives there, and is currently in the process of building an accommodation for people to stay there for longer periods. He invited me to eat some food and coffee he prepared. I agreed. So we sat there talking and having conversations through google translate. He was very friendly. Then we watched the sunset. He showed me the best spots at his place to watch the sunset. It was beautiful. As I was about to leave, he said; ‘if you get me some ingredients, I will cook for you’ ‘I just arrived here and I’m no chef - have no idea where to get that stuff. How about this: I give you some money, you get the ingredients, and we will eat together on Monday (2 days from now) He agreed. 2 days later, I arrived and he got us a ton of food. The whole Thai cuisine: pad thai, roasted chicken, pork satay, roasted peanuts, khao pad, egg salad, watermelon, papaya, guave There was a ton of food! We had a great dinner by the sunset and talked about his plans for his accommodation. He said: ‘I would love to have more people come over so I can show them the beautiful sunset here in Chiang Dao. And if you want some food, I happily cook for you.’ Then I asked him: ‘What do you want that people know about you?’ He replied: ‘I'm a good cook and a great caretaker. I want people to come and eat the food I cook and to be taken care of.’ And guys, this is not a lie. This was one of the most unexpected, but amazing experiences I’ve had here in Thailand. I watched a beautiful sunset , ate the best food, and got to see the most beautiful night full of stars while being there. If you’re looking for a place to watch the sunset in Chiang Dao, go here. You have to visit! thank me later. Came with 9 friends and the owner took care of us all. With a lot of care to our stay and attention to his delicious food, can't think about a more authentic, lovely, warm and tasty stay in Chiang Dao for your sunset and dinner. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
