Welcome to the Fall-off-the-Bone Zone TL;DR: Sunday Best is one of Seoul's Best. Like the title says, these ribs are not just flavorful, but melt-in-your-mouth tender. That's not always the case around here, so sidestep any chance of a disappointing rack and hop on over to Sunday Best. They make practically everything by hand here, and the proof is in the tasting. Also, their house salad is easily one of the best deals in the city. Long Story Long: Wangsimni is a bit far from where I live, so I fully indulged my cravings during my first visit: Texas-style barbecue ribs. I first ordered the salad with their homemade dressing. The quality of a house salad can say a lot about a place, and this salad didn't play around. It was fresh, delicious, well dressed with their homemade dressing, and shockingly well priced. Then I tasted their peach tea highball. It actually had the refreshing quality of a peach iced tea! I then enjoyed a serving of their barbecue ribs. Oh man, I was so glad my first ribs in a minute were the ones I had here. It's not easy pulling the trigger on Western food when you're unsure of the quality you're getting in Seoul, but everything here tasted like the goodness of home. When you taste these ribs, you'll really appreciate the care that went into making them. Due to the labor and equipment involved, proper Texas-style barbecue is practically impossible to make at home. That's why we need restaurants like this that do the hard work for us. The portions are satisfying and reasonably priced, and most importantly, the quality of the final product is high. You get the stateside goodness you're hoping for when you order or walk through the door. I actually intended to get some pie for dessert (each pie in their display case looks delicious), but I couldn't help but order more ribs instead. They were that delicious and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy more of this cultural treasure in the form of well-prepared meat. Sunday Best makes practically everything on their menu by hand, and you can taste the quality, the 손맛, in every bite. This is the kind of restaurant that makes you wish you had more than one stomach. The next best thing is to bring friends to enjoy this experience with you, so I hope this review makes the decision easier for you. Treat yourself and someone special to Sunday Best. You'll be glad you did! P.S. The owner is chill. Can't choose between the goodies? Ask for a recommendation! P.P.S. I went back for the brisket. And some pie. No notes. Get thee to Sunday Best ASAP!
