For all omakase lovers – this place on the 12th floor with a stunning view over the city has quickly become one of my favorites. The food is excellent, and there’s a great selection of alcoholic drinks. The chef is very friendly and truly passionate about his craft. Be sure to make a reservation in advance – otherwise, you won’t get a spot! Price per person: ฿1,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We were so excited to try this highly rated omakase in Bangkok but it was a letdown! Having tried omakase in Japan, our expectation was high. The good part: very high quality, fresh ingredients, attentive staff, perfect customer service but for the price that we paid for around 6000baht per person tonight, the whole experience was disappointing because of the chef I usually eat my piece by hand as soon as it was put down but I was struggling because the rice couldn’t even hold. It might be the chef’s skill or the rice wasn’t done right, not sure what was the reason but it did ruin the experience. The “chef presence” wasn’t there either which is a big part of omakase as we love to communicate or watching the chef’s knife skills ect. All in all with that price tag, definitely not worth it! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿1,000+ Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

If this was rated the best omakase in Bangkok, i would believe Bangkok wouldn’t be a place for omakase. Food quality was good. Rice quality and taste were on point. In fact, ingredients used was very good. Sushi chef that served us couldn’t get the rice in place with every piece of nigiri served. Rice were not intact and the Buri Sashimi was not done nicely, I could still see the flaws in the centre of the served sashimi. Soup that was served at the end of the course was Kombu soup? This is the first time I’m having Kombu soup for omakase. I was not expecting such a standard for a restaurant in St Regis. Lastly, for the appetiser given to me was grapes as I do not take sweets, much appreciated for this extra service but grapes served had a fishy smell. I really think if the restaurant were to keep up this 4.9 rating - there’s a lot to improve. Sorry but I don’t think my money was worth here for tonight’s dinner.
