Horrible experience. Food and service are decent. For some reason, they had to prepare 20 plates for another room. We were served 3 dishes and then sat there and watched them plate 20 plates of sashimi for 30 minutes. How is this an acceptable Omakase experience? Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

An absolute gem is back but in Central! The ingredients at Sushi Mamoru are some of the freshest I’ve ever tasted in Hong Kong — every piece truly shines on its own. Even though Chef Chiba doesn’t really speak English, his passion and dedication come across effortlessly through his food. Each bite felt like a conversation, and the restaurant staff were always there to share insightful details about the seasonality and origins of the ingredients, which made the experience even more meaningful. The atmosphere is just beautiful — warm wood finishes throughout create a cozy, homey feel, while the counter seating immerses you in the artistry of omakase. It’s not just dining, it’s witnessing a craft up close. My personal standout was the “Green Eye” sushi. It was so fatty, sweet, and perfectly balanced that all I could say to Chef Chiba was: Totemo Oishi! Highly recommend Sushi Mamoru for anyone who truly wants to experience omakase as both fine dining and a work of art. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
