While the chef has 2 helpers, he keeps the cash collection himself, stopping his frying occasionally to hand out change

While the “wok hei“ (smokiness) is dominant in the dish, it added a bitter aftertaste. Not very pleasant. May need more lime juice to hide/cut through. This is their smallest plate ($8, 4 prawns)

Geylang is touted to have the best local food. Swee Guan Hokkien Mee and Kwongs Satay are two repeatedly recommended places and since they're right beside each other I decided to make it my first stop. Kwong's chargrilled, juicy pork satay served with instantly addicting nutty satay sauce together with Swee Guan's Hokkien Mee served with Sambal, reputed to be the best in Singapore, makes a perfect combo!
