This place is definitely no “shack” — in fact, it’s a charming and thoughtfully designed modern restaurant that feels both welcoming and stylish without being pretentious. Tucked away around the back, the location gives it a slightly hidden, local-gem vibe, and it opens up to a pleasant view of a nearby water canal. The canal itself adds a nice touch of atmosphere, with people passing by on foot, bicycles, and even the occasional motorbike using it as a shortcut, which gives the setting a bit of authentic neighborhood character. The food was where this place really stood out. Everything we tried was satisfying and well-prepared, especially considering the very reasonable prices. The smoky ribs were a highlight — tender, flavorful, and genuinely finger-licking good, with just the right balance of char and seasoning. The fries were crisp and delicious, making a perfect side. A pasta carbonara-style dish we saw (and couldn’t help but notice) looked incredibly fresh and rich, with a creamy texture that suggested it was made with care — and judging by the empty plate, it clearly didn’t disappoint. The walnut salad was decent, though not particularly memorable compared to the other dishes. It did its job as a lighter option, but the main courses definitely stole the show. As for drinks, the adult beverage selection was solid enough — not extensive, but with enough variety to complement the meal and satisfy most preferences. Overall, this is a great little neighborhood spot that strikes a nice balance between modern style and casual comfort. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a relaxed family meal as it does for a casual outing with friends. With good food, fair prices, and a pleasant setting, it’s an easy place to recommend and one I’d happily return to.
